What receiver are you using? The vp211k will fit in my cabinet, the plain 211 will not. I see they have a new 211z which also appears smaller than the original 211.

View Navion owners we have a Facebook group if you are interested. Search View/Navion. It is sort of an easy place to post photos and get a quick response to a question. Windsolar06VH

I installed a Grape Solar 250 watt panel in between the Gull Wings on the 06 View. Ran wires down the passenger side wing and to the charge controller MPPT on back of dinette. Two AGM Lifeline batteries and the Magnum 2000w inverter under the dinette in a towards the front and the side. Didn't want to take storage space. wired directly to circuit breaker under fridge, after removing the AC breaker and installing it in it's own box just above the breaker box. I run my fridge and a small crock pot (in sink) as I drive. I haven't used my generator for two years. when I park I just turn on the Fantastic Fan and that keeps RV cool enough. I rarely travel down south so do not run AC much. I winterized the RV as well. Added insulation, the Wave 6 propane heater and spent two months skiing in Colorado. You can see the solar panel tipped up in this photo. Got rid of Kar Kaddy dolly and tow 4 down now. Windsolar

Looks like I need the 211k. The 211z has no coax output for the 2nd TV.
I hope the 211k runs cooler than the 211 which gets really hot.

The 211k also runs hot. You can add a coax output to the 211z (which barely gets warm) simply by adding an RF modulator, available at any Walmart for $10-20.

Subject change... Dry camping; how do you get water you lug to View INTO View? I'm guessing I'll need a 12 v pump to transfer it. Suggestions? Dave ;-)

Use your onboard water pump...put the hose that would typically go into the antifreeze bottle into a jug/bottle/container of water, set to winterize and tank fill, turn on the water pump and the water will be transferred to the holding tank.

Skylight thermal barrier
Anyone use insulation or reflective foil in the front and top skylights to block the summer sun?

Used foil on the Navion's two cab door windows to help cut the heat. Worked real good. We made the foil covers using newspaper and tape to create templates. The foil covers were affixed with Velcro. Try it.

Hello everyone! New to the RV world and looking to buy our first MH - and seriously considering the Navion IQ. Thanks to all who have posted such great information as it is very helpful. A quick question: has anyone ever replaced the couch on a G or a V with recliners? The Coachmen Prism has love seat recliners in that space, which would seem to make watching TV even more comfortable. Curious as to if you have ever seen this as an option or would consider getting as an 'after market' change.

I used a double layer in the sky light and single layers in most of the other. Windows . I used spring paper clips to hold mine and the store flat under the mattress.

Which BBQ Grill for a 24G?
We bought our 2014 View Profile 24G in March and love it! 33 Nights camping so far and it is great! So far I have been lugging a Weber small charcoal grill along, stored in the back area. We would like to switch to a gas grill but which one can we fit into our exterior storage space? Does the Weber Q1000 fit into the exterior space of a 24G?
So far we usually get 16 mpg, have seen as low as 13.7 mpg and as high as 16.9. We have driving 7400 miles and had to top off our DEF tank when the warning light came on at 6100 miles. No major issues with the unit, just small stuff like blinds, the parking brake cover, the air bed going off by itself (unplugged it), and no sound from the backup camera.
Any help on the BBQ grill appreciated!
Thanks!
Bill

The weber Q1000 will fit in the compartment by the side door nicely.

That & the winnabego View are both nice. We have a 2012 24g View we bought last Dec with 2700 miles (new!?!?). My wish list for ours; better access to rear compartment, over cab sleeping, straight grey water dumping instead of mascerater pump. We love how rig handles, mpg... It's a dream! Dave ;-)

If you wanted the cab over sleeping you could of got I believe the Thor or forest river it has rear slide and over cab sleeping. What I like on other models on sprint chassis are the side opening storage doors , easier to get in.

Dish Receiver
Thanks for the input from La.Paul and smiller. The VP111z receiver is a perfect fit for the 24G and is not hot like the VP111. Also added an IR repeater to use the remote with the cabinet door closed.

Diesel Gen
Boondocked at off-road bike races last weekend in the high 90s texas heat. Ran the generator 44 hours with a/c and other systems non-stop. Used 10 gal. of fuel. Had to add oil at 30 hours. First experience with a generator so not sure if this is typical.

I wanted the MB 3500 Chassis & only Winnebego / Itasca build on it. Everyone else uses the 2500 Chassis. Difference after more suspension & beefed up rear chassis is 5000# towing vs. 3500#. Having towed for years, more is better. We'll search starting a year from now for another 24g 2015,used, and pick off a great deal again. Winnie, from what I saw, is going to offer the 24g with cab over sleeping. ;-)4
