Minnie Winnie vs Spirit

I’ve been looking at the Winnebago site trying to compare the Minnie Winnie 22M and the Spirit 22M. Is it the quality of the materials used and also the construction that differs between them? I think the Outlook may be built using less expensive materials. Thanks.

Hi Ron & Cindy,
The Minnie Winnie and the Spirit are identical, except for the name itself. You are correct about the Outlook, in that the materials are of a lesser quality, such as the PVC roof. Also, should you want an E-450 frame, you cannot order that with an Outlook 22C. When I ordered mine, the E-350 carried 1,000 pounds less, so the importance of ordering an E-450 is no longer as important for the current model year.
Are you going to order one from the factory?
Thanks, Eagle5

Thanks so much Eagle. I did notice the GVWR has changed on the E350 from previous years. The dealer we purchased our recent Travato has the 22R. I was leaning towards the M for the larger bed area. I know it’s going to be a lot less fuel efficient, but I’m ok with that. The dealer one does have the electric jacks. Can you get a solar system as a factory option?

Hi again Ron & Cindy,
If you were to order an E-450, the stabilizing "jacks" become a little less important, and the whole vehicle is a little more stiff. Because they become the low-point on the departure angle, the stabilizers were the only option which I did not order.
One other benefit of the 22M is that you can walk around both sides of the bed. Also, the 22M lends itself for a little more privacy, should you travel with four in the vehicle.
Thanks, Eagle5

Thanks for the suggestions Eagle. We’re not as young as we used to be, so having that extra space in the bed area is great. That’s one of the reasons we choose the 59K with the twin bed setup. Does it come with an inverter so the fridge can run while traveling?

The appliances in the 22M are the tried & true kind, and seem to be reliable. The fridge works great, and runs either on 120 VAC (or generator) power, or it runs on Propane. The Propane consumption seems to be thrifty.
My 1,000 watt 120 VAC inverter runs three outlets:
  1. The upper bunk outlet for the TV and DVD Player,
  2. The slide-out berth area TV, and
  3. The outlet down low by the aft berth.
I can run my coffee maker with the outlet on the floor.
I did forget to mention about the solar panels. I do not believe there is a factory option for their installation, and because we get so little sun in South Bend, I have never considered it.
Thanks, Eagle5
