L14-30 is a 30 amp twist lock connector not a cord. For the 30 amp rating of the connector, it would typically be wired with 10 gauge wire. However, a longer run might call for 8 gauge wire.

Longer wheel base is better than short wheel base. Pickups should fit into your garage. My Ram 3500 diesel 4 door with an 8 foot bed fits mine but barely.

Good luck finding a 15” ST tire that’s not made in China. On our last TT I switched to 16” LT tires. Same load capacity and quality construction.

I have the unit mounted under the bed near the ATS. Mounted the remote on the side of the bed so that it's viewable from the living room. Yes it blinks but isn't bright enough to cause any issue....
