Gray water sensors indicating false positives

Posted 09-22-2022 at 01:22 PM by HiBanky
Updated 03-12-2024 at 08:40 AM by HiBanky (Add soup and pics)

My 2005 Journey has external proximity sensors on the gray water holding tank for detecting the waste water level. These are the black square stick on type with the white + sigh in the center. Like most other types of sensors they are susceptible to sending false positive signals when guck builds up on the inside of the tank. When Dish soap and tank cleaners don’t do the job, I have the good solution to the problem.

Aging 3M Mask on the front of my coach

Now that the mold has completely ruined the look of the front cap I have started what will likely be a very long project. The only good solution is to scrape off all the Diamond shield film. Ten hours later and about twenty plastic razor blades the hood is looking really good. My choice of solvent was mineral spirits, but I am searching for something better for the next section. Some plastic scrapers from Harbor Freight may also make the job easier.

The top half is finished with no...

Splendide Washer Quit working

Posted 07-19-2022 at 07:57 AM by HiBanky

There are any number of things that can go wrong with a Splendide WD2000s Washer Dryer Combo. In this case, when the washer stopped in mid-cycle the settings knob rotated continuously and the “Status/Door Lock” light flashed twice every eight seconds. A quick search on the internet provided a service manual (TRAINMAN_Complete.pdf) that explained the flashing code and the procedure for testing various components. The flashing light code meant the motor had a problem.

Black water sensors sending false positives.

Like most other types of sensors they are susceptible to sending false positive signals when guck builds up on the inside of the tank. When chemicals, ice, and enzymes don’t do the job, I have the final solution to the problem.

Water Pump Running Continuously

Posted 11-17-2021 at 11:58 AM by HiBanky

In my 2005 Journey there is a SurFlow 3 chamber water pump that runs when the pressure drops below some predetermined point. The exact point is unknown to me but probably something like 20 to 30 PSI. If the system is tight, meaning no leaks at all, it will not come on without opening a faucet or flushing the toilet. If there is a tiny leak, it will come on briefly every hour or so. I lived with the tiny leak scenario for two years but then it began to run nearly continuously and air would spit from...
