There are lots of trailers I would not want to tow, but most brands are under the same pressure to build as fast as they can to keep the hourly staff out of the factory when not needed.

How certain brands get "certified" for road use is beyond me though, YouTube is full of owners showcasing entire panels missing nails or screws on some other brands.

But if you start taking things apart you'll find WTF build quality in most brands, including Winnebago. Since 99% of trailers are on the road only 4 weeks out of the year (if that) most people just tinker along and keep it going for few years, then sell it and the cycle starts over.

But if I were to use it a lot more, was 25 years old and wanted a better build quality my personal fav for small trailers are Oliver, Bigfoot or Safari Condo for $65K, those will probably last a lifetime.

Winnebago is a nice quality (overall) for what it costs and what it delivers! If you really want to get it right, keep it on the dealers lot until you've done a 2 day PDI

I searched on DuckDuckGo for "worst travel trailers to avoid." And yes, Winnebago shows up on a lot of these lists. Only one survey revealed a decent survey sample size, and Winnebago got only 3 percent of the responses.

Every other list reveals nothing about how much data they collected or how they collected it. There is no way to judge the validity of the article. Also, most were not even dated; could have been last week, or 10 years ago. Who knows. At best, junk science and click bait.

As expected, brands that sell a lot made it high on the list. Brands with very little market share, say under 1%, made no lists. What does that tell you?

If a brand has, say 5% market share and got 10% of the complaints, that would tell you something. Unfortunately, you're not going to find that out in these lists.

Even better, get one with a clear section. It's very useful when rinsing out your tank since you can see if the water is clear.
