Roof vents always open? 2018 Intent

So I have another question for somebody out here is I have a 2018 Winnebago intent and the roof vents I know are made to be left open all the time so wind and water will not come in those but my question is how do they work what keeps the wind and water from coming in I got up and looked at him and certainly seems like enough wind and rain would make its way through those Vance I can't seem to get an answer from Winnebago so I thought maybe somebody could help me with that thank you

Hi Michael,
You are correct! The roof vents will allow rain to come-in when they are fully open. You can open them only about a ½" to prevent rain water coming in, but to open them more than than, you will need something like a MAXXAIR Vent Cover.
Additionally, I totally close my stock roof vents when underway, or else the road wind will make the little covers buffet.
Thanks, Eagle5.

What makes you think the roof vents are made to be open all the time?? Did you read that or someone say that?
FantasticFan, now owned by Dometic, have a rain ssnsor on their high-end models, but they do not have a wind sensor. That rain feature is only for use when parked.

I have a cover on ours, and leave it open all the time, stationary or while travelling. It helps to keep the air fresh and moisture out. The only exception is when the AC is on and it's really hot outside. I've NEVER had water come in, even in blowing rain. I've been doing this in 4 different MHs over 8 years, over 75K miles.
In my opinion, the covers are designed to keep rain out, and do a good job.
