2005 Itasca Exterior Door Roller-Shade & Cornice

Hello;

I have a 2005 Itasca Sunova and would like to tighten up the roller-shade spring inside my exterior door. The shade pulls down but is reluctant to roll back up, or at least reluctant to roll all the way back up. Could someone tell me what the process is to tighten spring?

Additionally, access to the roller-shade would be easier if I could remove the cornice but don’t see a way to remove it. Any help on accomplishing this task would be appreciated.

Most cornice are mounted on a ell bracket inside, a long screwdriver is required. Otherwise your hand is hiding the screw-head. I've even resorted to having DW hold a mirror where I could easily see up inside the cornice to find the screws.
