If you lower the whole assembly an inch before you drill the 3/4" access hole you probably won't need the extension. That was not an option for me since the hole was already there from a previous camera. You can contact Haloview to see if they have the extensions in yet or buy the MC7109.

Besides the antenna location, what is the difference between the 7108 and 7109, feature wise if any.
The compare option doesn't do justice.

I never paid any attention to the MC7109 because I knew what I wanted and have been extremely satisfied with theMC7108. There are always a lot of reviews on Amazon.

I don't know the differences for sure. I know that the 7109 has infrared night vision, and the 7108 does too. The 7108 has 4 infrared lights vs 6 on the 7109, so it's probably a little better at night. I'm pretty sure the video resolution is identical at 720p. Haloview states that the 7109 screen brightness is higher than the 7108.
https://www.haloview.com/faq/what-is...d-mc7109p.html
But I do know that the side mount cameras I installed look perfectly identical to the rear camera in every respect, even on the monitor. They are just mounted vertically instead of horizontally on the bracket. I believe the 7109 is the upgrade to the 7108. So in theory, it should be the same or better than the 7108.
With the 7108 you MUST have the extension bracket due to the antenna location if you want to mount it against the rear wall of your TT. I did not need the extension bracket for my 7109, but it would have helped for the Voyager adapter (which isn't strictly required for the camera).

Do both the 7108 and 7109 come with a plug? Does the Voyager adapter imply the trailer is prewired (I have no preexisting wiring or mounting on the trailer. I would be starting with 2 bare wires to tie into rear marker light.
Looking at the 7109 there is a 7109 and a 7109P

My 7109 came with a plug. I plugged it into the Voyager prewire adapter and plugged the adapter into the Voyager plug on my TT.
I believe that I also have an adapter with 2 wires with my 7109 which the camera could plug into. This could be used to wire in directly, which would have made my install cleaner. It only needs a positive 12v wire and a negative wire for power. Cutting off the plug on the camera and just using the 2 wires directly from that should work as well.
The wire on the camera also has a water tight rubber hole seal on the wire to be used to fill the hole for the wires. Since I used the Voyager prewire plug, I water sealed that when I screwed it down on the TT (it was just hanging there unattached under the Voyager plate).
Edit: I missed that part about you not having prewiring. You will need to tie into the parking lights. If you want the camera up high it would be better to tie into one of the small red lights at the top of the rear wall. In my rear wall there are studs that run top to bottom inside of the wall, like a house. I'm pretty sure your TT will be the same. So you may want to pull the light in the middle, attach a wire to the positive and negative wires, then drop them down a foot or two inside the wall and fish them out through a hole.
I am no expert, but this is how I would likely approach this situation. But if someone has a better way then I'm all ears.

The extension bracket is back in stock on Amazon also on Haloview accessories.

Yes, the camera will be mounted in the center below the rectangular marker light as did Bigbird. As he mentioned going with the MC7108 (enclosed bracket) would require placing the bracket as to not have the antenna make contact with the marker light. As my trailer has no hole for the wiring, I can place the bracket anywhere. For those that have a predrilled hole, the extension bracket would be required with the MC7108 so the antenna avoids hitting the marker light.
I will have to drill a hole in the rear outside wall of the trailer (sure the size is referenced in the installation instructions) and inline with the large hole in the metal "U" shaped mounting bracket.
From there I would pull the wire down/up from/to the marker light. I assume the rear wall is full depth insulated with styrofoam (as was the sidewall for my upgraded speaker install). I will have to dig a channel through the foam to reach the marker light power wires.
I would then have to reseal the hole, I assume this is the grommet you referred which comes attached to the 2 wire lead.
With MC7109 having the antenna being side mounted, I can mount the enclosed metal "U" shaped bracket closer to the rectangular marker light (no extension bracket needed) which makes for a shorter wire run through the foam backed wall.
Thanks to all for your feedback here, it is great to share/clarify ideas back and forth.

Make sure you drill the 3/4" hole with a hole saw and not a drill bit. I sealed the hole with silicone rubber. Easy to remove if you need to.

Thanks for the hole size, yes hole saw. I had to open up the gelcoat side wall to install 6 1/2" speakers, was an easy process too. Hope the light wires are not dangling anywhere near the new 3/4" hole when it saw cuts through.

This is the Voyager adapter wire that sticks out which I was referring to in a previous post. It prevents mounting the camera using the existing 4 holes from the Voyager prewire. Unless you buy the extender bracket.
I would not use the adapter wire if I did this again. I would cut off the plug which the adapter wire is plugged into and use the wires that used to be in the plug to wire the camera in. Note: The Voyager plug was not screwed on when I removed the Voyager plate, it was just tucked under it. I had to screw it down and added 2 new holes when I did that..
However, I would still buy the adapter kit for the mounting plate which was also included which allows using the existing holes from the Voyager plate.

Thanks Bigbird,
Not yet. The TT hasn't moved since installation. But I have a 1400 mile trip this weekend with the TT, so it will get a full trial.

Hi All,
I ordered the Haloview MC7109 this morning along with suction cup monitor mount, package is to arrive Friday. As mentioned earlier our 2017 2106FBS has NO prewiring or mounting hardware on the rear of the trailer. The trailer has the 5 rectangular marker lights.
The picture shows the attached bracket to come in the package as well.
I assume the "U" Shaped plastic bracket on the camera is non removable and the camera first gets mounted to the pictured metal mount, then the mount is secured to the trailer with 4 screws.
I assume the plastic mount on the camera cannot be removed, so as to mount it directly to the trailer wall.
In a non pre wired install, has anyone considered removing the middle marker light and installed the camera mount in its place. No drilling new hole for power wire as hole is there for the light itself.
Does the package come with all mounting screws and wire connectors?
Dave I didn't quite understand your schematic, I assume I will have no issues with studs, drilling a 3/4" hole 2" - 4" directly below the center marker light.

Bcborn, you said: In a non pre wired install, has anyone considered removing the middle marker light and installed the camera mount in its place. No drilling new hole for power wire as hole is there for the light itself.
According to this, that would be illegal. I really don't think there is much chance of getting a ticket.

I don’t understand all the hubbub about mounting the camera. The plastic Voyager cover, when removed, has a round plastic thingy on the inside. Simply drill out the middle of the thingy, and the diameter of the hole is the perfect size for the camera wire. Just wire up the camera, reuse the cover gasket, seal it up, and mount the camera frame directly onto the Voyager cover. If you want it 100% waterproof, just use some caulk. Forgive me if I’m missing something.

Our 2017 does come pre wired or with the Voyager mount. Not sure what year Winnebago included this option.

MC7109 arrived Friday. My last post should have read the 2017 2106FBS DOES NOT come prewired
I too looked at the option of cutting off the plug on the camera as there is a mile of cable for every hook up. Keeping the plug just adds another connection unfortunately. Reading the instructions the camera come pre paired to Cam 4, should one ever add additional cameras or loose pairing to the monitor cutting the plug off this camera would be a concern.
As I don't have a prewired trailer I will cut the short prewire cable (to expose the Red and Black wires) rather than use the longer Camera Conversion Cable seeing the camera is less than a foot from the clearance lights.
I could then use the Camera Conversion Cable to hardwire (fused) switched power to the monitor rather than use the cigarette lighter plug.
I will still have the OEM plug at camera for pairing purposes, should I need it.

Sounds like a good plan. My MC7108 was also pre paired to Cam4. I have never had to re-pair it.

No instructions for camera mounting.
I assume the six 3/4" long self tapping screws with plastic washers were intended for mounting to wall of trailer. Guessing the plastic washers go between wall bracket and trailer wall.
Hope screws are non rusting as well.
