Two of us, but mostly me here.

I'm a Critical Care Paramedic, and my wife is an ER/ICU Nurse Practitioner. We have sort of normal jobs and do special event medical services too.

but a lot of times we're camping, hiking, biking, rafting, or just out under the trees taking a nap. lol.

That is quite impressive. Thanks for the reply. No one has asked but my Bigbird65 is from my other hobby. I fly giant scale radio control model airplanes.

Hey everyone,
I'm new to this Winnie Owners Forum and this thread caught my eye because I recently purchased a gently used 2022 Micro Minnie 2108TB.
After reviewing this thread, I decided to go with the Haloview M7109 camera setup.
I ended up removing the Voyager connector and going with the bare wire connector option that came with the camera. I used the rubber grommet that was on the camera's wire to fill the hole previously used by the Voyager connector. The hole had to be enlarged a little bit to accommodate the rubber grommet so I used a Dremel tool to widen the hole just enough to make the grommet fight snugly.
The bare wire cord was way too long so I cut it back quite a bit so that I wouldn't have to stuff a ton of wiring back inside the trailer.
I'm old school when it comes to wiring so I soldered the red a black wires and used heat shrink tubing to cover the solder joints. I then put on some electrical tape just to strengthen up the connections.
I've included photos to show the installation.

Hi;

Newbie to all this:
This thread has help me tremendously and I wanted to say Thank You all.
This is what I have installed with your advice – indecently on my rig there is constant 12VDC on the camera wires until I cut battery, 2022 Minnie 2327TB.

Looks good. Does it work well? What do you mean by "indecently on my rig there is constant 12VDC on the camera wires until I cut battery". Does your power not come from the running lights? Usually that is the way it works and your tow vehicle lights need to be on for the camera to work.

TerryO your installation looks good. Is your MC7109 performing well?

The camera works great but I set it pointing too low, didn't have chance to re-adjust, will do that at a latter date, expected to take a trip to San Jose Ca in a couple of weeks. Hope to have it all adjusted by then.
When wiring the camera I was carful not to short anything in doing that I realized power is always to the camera. It was only when I turned off battery power did power stop to the camera. Running lights were not on even though the camera had power. Not sure if the solar panel was supplying pwr to the camera or not. I couldn't find a wiring diagram

I think you need to go back in and tap off the running lights so you will be able to turn the camera power off by turning the lights off.

Not sure how I would do that, the only wires I could find were what was there for the Voyager camera, it was only two wires going into a four pin connector, cut that off and spliced in the Haylowview camera.
I have no idea where the wires originate.
Is there a problem with pwr to the camera all the time?
If I knew where or how this thing is wired and had access I would change the wiring - any ideas??

rajron, I really don't believe that there is a problem leaving the camera on all the time if you have shore power available or solar available when you are not on the road.

Hey Bigbird65, I haven't used the camera on the road yet. It's only been tested in the driveway. We have a trip coming up the first week of November so that will be the first road test.

I been doing a search on backup cameras, and sorry if this has been asked, since I didn't read thru all the post. But I like what I've read and seen thru reviews on the haloview cameras. But I just read that they are out of Hong Kong and that's were they are shipped from. Unless you buy from Amazon of another source. Has anybody had a warranty issue and did it have to go back to Hong Kong. Haloview has a good black Friday sale, but I have read the person buying there product has to pay for customs. Just woundeting if it's worth the time and effort. They seem to have a good product.
Thanks

Over the years I have owned 4 backup camera systems. The last and best has been the Haloview MC7104. I highly recommend it. Here is a link to Haloview. Ask them about warranty. I have never had to use their warranty. https://www.haloview.com/products.html

Ok, thanks. I see alot of people have bought the 7108 on other sites also. I was thinking about the mc5111 because it's small and the size is the same as my portable GPS. But if I install the side maker cameras I think the 5" would be to small.
Thanks again.

Even for a single camera I think you would really like the 7" monitor. I have used this mount on the MC7108 monitor both on the windshield and on the bean bag. It is very versatile. https://www.amazon.com/Haloview-Nons...%2C189&sr=1-28
