The CA109 camera has a pre attached rubber grommet that is intended to go into a thin wall. The trailer as we know it has the gel coat and 1/8 wall sheathing.

The grommet has a 7/8" (+) lip that has to press into the trailer wall. Were you able to press the grommet into the 3/4" hole and stay tight while what ever sealant you used dried? Or, did to cut back the 7/8 lip to the lesser indent for less pressure on the rubber grommet?

I think the grommet is really made for the Haloview Peaked Cap Bracket

I learned the hard way.

The 7108 will let you use a different bracket, such as the extension bracket.
The 7109 (which I bought) has the camera fixed in its bracket instead. It is not very movable at all.

I am returning the 7109 and getting the 7108, the extension bracket, and the Voyager/Haloview adapter which comes with the power adapter. Today has definitely been a learning experience. (the 7109 does come with an adapter cable that I could wire in but it's like 3' long.)

I would just be lazy and go with a voyager system but they all (that I have experienced) have the microphone on and you'll hear road noise the entire trip. The Haloview units don't do this.

I'm in the middle position and it is good, could go un or down if need be.

I used the short cable and cut off the plug as my trailer didn't have any pre wiring

Overall I'm very happy with the 7109, it was the right choice.

RovingMedics my MC7108 system has been outstanding and the extension makes the positioning easy.

A week after I got my 7109 I see Haloview is coming out with a 1080p unit.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Haloview units.

MC7109 worked flawlessly this past week (600miles). No drop outs from the camera on my 2106FBS to the monitor mounted to the Tacoma Double Cab Windshield.

Obviously the issues I had last trip out were operator error.

I can tilt it down more, but OK with the long view.

We will be picking up our new 2529RG soon, and would like to have a rear view camera ready to install. I like the bracket that is available for the Haloview MC7108 for use with the existing Voyager setup on our trailer. Does anyone know if the signal from a second Haloview inside our trailer would transmit to monitor in the cab of our F250? I am worried about all the metal in the shell of the trailer.

The metal in my RAM Quadcab does not bother the signal. For your question contact Haloview [email protected]

More concerned about the signal making it out of the trailer from the interior camera.

My assumption is that you have a Winnebago travel trailer since you are on this website. Fiberglass walls with an aluminum frame and lots of stuff in the trailer.

Consider this, the shortest distance from my MC7108 camera signal to the monitor on the dash of my truck is through the rear wall of the 2250DS trailer then somewhere through the front of the trailer. Two trailer penetrations but who knows, maybe it is looping over the trailer. Regardless, no signal degradation.

Thank you. Yes, we have a 2529RG. Are you using the Haloview MC7108? Two cameras or four? What size is your monitor? Where did you mount your interior camera, and where did you find power? Through the rear wall from same line as rear camera?
Thanks again.

Lets see if I can answer your questions without missing anything. I am using the 7" monitor. I do not have an interior camera. I have no interest in monitoring the inside of the trailer. I am using a single MC7108 camera for rear view. My trailer was not prewired for a camera. After using a 3/4" hole saw to cut a hole below the center running light I installed the extended camera mount and wired the + and - wires from the camera to the + and - wires going to the running light. I filled the hole with silicone rubber.

Here is the Haloview system I bought.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here is the new design camera mount I bought.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here is the monitor mount that works attached to the bean bag and sits on the dash without sliding around or can be can be detached from the bean bag and mounted on the windshield. I have used it both ways.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What else? Oh yes, you have to have the running lights on for the camera to work.

Haloview Rear View Camera

Thanks, perfect.

Two pictures come up on your message, think one was the previous picture and another a new one. Looks like there is a bracket with a "roof" above the camera in the picture that had been on the forum, guess this type of bracket is no longer available?

Was getting ready to order the bean bag and the suction cup, didn't understand the suction cup is on the bean bag!

We are considering an interior camera, we've had a couple cases of the refer door not being fully latched. Thinking that I can drill through the back wall, and through the cabinet back inside. Will discuss that with Winnebago before proceeding.

Is anyone using a camera inside their trailer? We have had a couple instances of the refrigerator door not being fully latched, and I would prefer to know about that sooner than later. If you installed an interior camera, was it just a matter of drilling through the back wall of the trailer and (in our 2529RG) through the back wall of the cabinet to get the running light power inside?

The camera mounting bracket and the sun roof are two separate pieces. The sun roof is supplied with the system. The camera is supplied with a short mounting bracket but the longer new design bracket gives more flexibility for vertical adjustment.

The bean bag and suction cup mount come as a unit or can be bought as separate items.

One more item you might want to buy is a Samsung Plus 64GB Micro SD card for recording your trip. It plugs in to the top of the monitor.

Thanks, all very helpful. Now trying to decide between the Haloview BT7 1080p camera (resolution and longer range with double antennas on monitor) and the Haloview MC7108. Bracket for BT7 is a new plastic design for Furion. Like the metal bracket, and metal roof that is available for the MC7108. I think the U-shaped bracket would work for the BT7, but not sure if the metal roof comes with the U-shaped bracket or the MC7108 camera.

Looking at the MC7108 on Haloview's site the metal roof comes with the MC7108 and the short U bracket.

From talking with Haloview, the plastic bracket c/w roof is available separately too (new item). which can be used with the Waterproof CA109 Camera (MC7109)
