Is the 2015 Minnie Winnie 31h a good rig?

I have a general question on 2015 Minnie Winnie 31h. Is it a good rig?

Thank you!

That's going to be a hard thing to answer as it has so many personal choices and differences in what we want to do and when!

Are you a newer RV user, so that you may not know what can become problems or is it more that you are used to things that effect the way we feel about our motorhomes and want to know if there is some big known bug in the engine, drivetrain, etc.?

Do you plan trips in cold weather like to ski slopes or ice fishing or is that and freezing pipes not going to be a big question?
Kids to go along and how much the secondary sleeping is a question or more likely just wo most of the time? Need room for a crowd or is smaller to park and travel more the "Nice" thing to have?

If we can get a better idea of what YOU feel you will want, we can often cut out a lot of the points that are strictly personal choice. And there are tons of different ideas on what we each will find works best as we go along.
Part of the story has to be what and when! The folks who live up North and want to go South for 3-4 months and park in one spot may want the big bus! The other folks who live South and may want to drive in to tailgate at the ball park, often will want something different!

Give us as much info as you can see at the current time and we can throw in more things that you may want to avoid or require?
Any specific concerns like motor, plumbing , size, bedding, etc. that you are thinking about?

My first RV......

Will be using it to travel a lot of local functions. I am a missionary and will be running our mobile church out of this. Just looking for something simple that has the luxury of not stopping for food, restroom and hotel. All answers would be welcome.

Thank you

We used ours in a similar fashion and it worked out well. Winnebago makes a decent unit and that one is old enough to have missed the Covid effect on quality. Make sure the tires and batteries have been replaced within the past 2 years. I would also consider a professional 3rd party inspection.

You can't go by tread on RV tires, they usually aren't driven enough to wear the tread down you have to go by the date codes on the tire. Anything over 6-7 years probably needs to be replaced.

Hi surfchurch,
The 2015 & earlier Minnie Winnies are equipped with the 5-speed transmission, and the 2016 & newer are equipped with the 6-speed transmission. The trouble with the five speed is when it downshifts going up a steep grade, it often drops to 3rd gear and the engine starts to scream. The six speed has even gear spacing and the closer ratios keep the engine at a more civilized speed.
Certainly, a 5-speed is not a deal-breaker, but when going up steep grades, just let your speed fall so as to not over-rev your V-10. The V-10 is best kept below 4,000 rpm for long valve train life.
Thanks, Eagle5
