2017 ERA/Sprinter Cargo Door Screen

I wanted to mention this here because I am sure someone else has had to deal with this and might be able to offer some suggestions, no reason to re-invent the wheel if someone else has solved the issue..

Here goes, I have noticed that when I try to fully close my cargo door screen I have about a 2 1/2 inch gap between the felt filler and and Sprinter door frame.

I have checked all the adjustments and they are correct. Seems to me this was a mistake by Winnebago to leave such a gap after all it's suppose to be a bug screen?

I called Winnebago to see if there was a part missing which was useless. They sent me the engineering documents for my year and it appears this is just the way it is.

Short of me engineering something to fill the gap I might have to just keep closing the cargo door or replace the complete screen assembly with a new product.

The Screen assembly used in my unit is a Horrex and made in the Netherlands. I could not find any US distributors.

The local Winnebago dealer suggested either living with it as is or removing it and installing a aftermarker screen that rolls down, splits in the middle and closes with magnets.

Comments, suggestions?

Not that this will help, but the screen on our 2016 ERA 70A goes pretty close to the door frame, maybe a 1/2-inch or so gap, certainly nothing on the order of several inches. There is still room for enterprising insects to get in, but not a lot of room.

Thanks for your comment, Winnebago switched suppliers to Horrex for the 2017 model year (then switched again for the later years too). From what I can gather (not much help from Winnebago) this gap I have is just the way it is. The track at the top of the slide comes to a dead end about 3 inches short of where it should go to and the filler felt is a number of inches too small.

As I see it, few options are available,
First, replace the complete assembly with another manufacture such as Plisse,
Engineer a solution such as a frame and filler on the right side for the screen to meet with.
Live with it and enjoy nature and the bugs that come with it. lol

As always, thanks all for the interest, suggestions and comments.
