What is this part 2007 Journey 36SG

I uploaded three pictures of an aluminum extrusion, I found on top of the large slide of my 2007 Journey 36SG.

About a month ago, while retracting the large drivers side slide, I hear a loud clunk. This was quite unusual and I was going to look next time the slide was out, but I forgot.

Next time I was retracting the slide and it happened again, and again I forgot to look.

Finally in preparation for my last trip I remembered to look. and found the piece of aluminum in the three pictures. It measures about 1.5" x 1.75"

At some point it has damaged a small section of slide seal, but not so bad as to leak. I have looked everywhere and cannot find a place that is missing a part, and there are no marks on it to indicate it has ever been attached to anything.

I am going to look through the Winnebago build sheer and see if it is pictured anywhere.

Looks like the door handle from a trailer. Was the RV manufactured close to a trailer manufacturing plant? Maybe inside? Or was it at a less then reliable repair shop? Like a tech horsing around and tossed the handle up there playing around?

Based on my crawling up around there a couple months ago inspecting when I had a LR slide problem, it looks like nothing I have attached to mine.

Hyd. slide mechanism? If so, it cannot be associated with slide operation or locking.
Is any metal part of slide topper mechanism black?
It cannot have been there long or the seal would be destroyed by now. As Jim said, prank perhaps?

My first thought was a part of a slide awning. But I am sure you looked for that. Do you have any friends of family member that could be pranking you?

I have looked everywhere for a place a part is missing or one that looks like this one with no joy. It is just me and the wife. so no pranking going on here.

The slide lock mechanism has not worked in the 2.5 years I have owned the Journey, but there is a pretty good sized pocket where this thing could have been hiding and possibly the cause of the slide lock not working. Could it have bounced out of the slide lock hole?

The one thing that stands out is that it has no markings that would indicate to me it was installed anywhere. No marks from a screw, no lines from being attached to anything. It is a big mystery.

I tried a Google picture search with no success...didn't really expect it though. Best bet would be to reach out to Lichtsinn RV as they handle the parts for Winnebago.

Hi Horse54,
That is a great idea to use Google picture search. I just tried to do the same with TinEye, and also struck-out on all three images. It seems that this mystery cannot be solved.

Looks like part of the stop for the anti bellows arm.

rotate your bottom photo 90* and look at fig 17 & 18.

Rgvtexan is correct, Its a spacer for your slide awning lock / anti-billow device . Its to prevent your slide topper from unrolling from wind while you are driving.

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner, it is installed as shown in Figure #18, 1". But, both of mine are installed.

I theorize that way back in 2007 a Winnebago worker dropped one on the slide and it worked it's way into the slide lock box. This is probably why the slide lock has never worked. I must have hit some big bumps and dislodged it.

The first time we heard it was on our Second trip this year extending the big slide, then I forgot to look, heard it on our third trip, I forgot again, but remembered to look before our fourth trip and saw it plain as day. Pulled it off the slide top with a broom.

Thanks all for your help and suggestions, at least I know it hasn't fallen off of where it is supposed to be.
