I recently purchased a Vista 29npf which comes with a Carefree Latitude single stage awning. On a recent trip to Utah we had the awning out and even a slight breeze was causing the awning to flop up and down. I also noticed that the rear side of the awning was pitched pretty far down. In reviewing this
from Carefree, I went to adjust the pitch of the rear side of the awning. I found that the locking screw was almost all the way 'out' or away from the body of the coach. No were near the 'hand tightened' setting the video requires. I'm thus thinking that without the locking screw 'hand tightened' up against the mounting bracket, this allowed the awning to freely fly upwards a ways. It also caused the arm to not fully tuck up under the rolled up awning when retracted, sometimes even popping out about 6 inches away from the coach while driving. Once I adjusted the pitch to be not so low on the rear (but still slightly lower than front for rain runoff) and 'hand tightened' the upper locking screw the awning is more stable and the arm tucks in up under the retracted awning nice and tight.
