Greetings caryncallie,
About how big is this part, and where on your roof is it located?
Welcome to the forum.

The part is about 8 x 8 brown plastic and it is closer to the front above slide room on both sides of the unit

There’s supposed to be some plastic buttress/fairing that go there. The pieces are what they’d get screwed to. I’ll pull up a picture later, as it’s hard to describe.

Here's the pieces in the parts catalog (shown in green). And the pieces you see underneath (in red). I suspect a couple of the clips/anchor pieces came loose, since you is one per side, and the fairings were removed.

There's a section for "front body panel" (main piece in purple). Took some clicking around to see what they grouped it with.

So you have the fairings (or whatever you want to call them), just need to get some clips and glue them back on?

Looks like definite right answer as when looking at the first picture, you can see the mold as a grey/black color that formed while the top portion was hiding it from the sun and now it is no longer hidden!

I was missing this plastic faring piece when I bought this almost new 21, 24-J Navion. Figured since I was getting a good deal on it, that it’d be a cheep fix and not to whine…. Yet another learned lesson… special order part with needed glue on brackets, high $700, found out it needed to be color match painted, quote “at least $700. Oh, and labor to have them install.

So, I had local NAPA auto paint store color match it off hood and put together paint can fix, turned out ok enough. Also used West System Epoxy
( yes, former blow boater ) to adhere brackets and then thoroughly painted epoxy to keep UV off. Also snuck and sealed a few screws into roof.

Seems to be holding well after a few K miles.
I couldn’t not see it was missing from day one !

Got pics if you want…
