Fuel tank leak 33v adventurer

my 33v adventurer was vandalized. They punctured the fuel tank with a screwdriver. Will Jb weld do the trick?

JB Weld has a product called Steel Stik that's a putty they advertise as a gas tank sealer..

I hit a muffler at night that punctured a plastic tank, used JB Weld product called Tank Weld to seal rental car tank, have no idea how it turned out long term..

Jb weld

Thanks! I already bought some steel stick and plan on plugging the hole with it. I’m wondering if it is regarded as a permanent solution or temporary? Any advice?

I have left plenty of "temporary" fixes in my wake over the years. Quite a few apparently became permanent. Life is temporary, smear the JB on and go until it leaks again... if ever.

Where the steel hanger strap rubbed on the gas tank of an old car I had. I used 2-part epoxy-type gas tank repair to seal the hole, let it harden then replaced the hanger strap. It never again leaked while I owned that car.
These epoxy gas tank repair kits can be applied wet, at least the one I used said that, and sealed.
For a large hole a screwdriver would make, I think I'd clean the area, then use a short SST sheet metal screw into the hole after I'd covered it with epoxy. Then cover the SST screw with the same epoxy. IMO the screw head would give support to the cured epoxy in the hole

done deal

Thanks for the response. I decided to get the hole welded BUT I needed to patch the hole to drive to repair shop. I did the sheet metal screw in the hole covered by JB weld steel stick. It worked great!
