Hi TennisJohn,
Before you pull that trigger, it’s really important for you to calculate by inventory everything that will be in your SUV when camping. That includes all people, pets, tools, and camping gear. Also, if you plan on getting a generator, highly advised you get a propane model, so you can carry it, or propane fuel inside the SUV. Then you don’t have to worry about where to carry gasoline. The 4wd version will have a payload of about 1,300 lbs. the 2108 Micro Minnie will have a wet tongue of about 600 lbs. That’s with a fully loaded pass thru, 1/2 tank of fresh water, and empty waste tanks. You also need to allow for 120 lbs on the ball from the weight of the hitch and sway bars and brackets. Due to your short wheelbase, you would absolutely need a WDH with built in anti-sway.
I’m just cautioning you because my truck has a payload of 1,340 lbs and we are right at the limit of rear GAWR and GVWR as verified by CAT scale. We do have to be conscious about how we distribute weight in the trailer, and try to keep as much weight as possible out of the truck. This makes it a comfortable and safe tow. If you believe you can stay within weight limits for the pathfinder (check the sticker inside the door), then you’ll find the 2108 to be a pretty nice trailer for the price.
