In my 2012 Itasca Navion iQ with a Dometic frig, it’s my understanding when set on “auto” it runs on 12v while driving. That should mean the propane can be turned off and frig is still cooling.

I always disconnect the engine battery by pushing down on the red button and then pulling out. Should disconnect. Make sure you're pushing the red button down fully.
