GMC Canyon Towing with 2.7L Turbo i4
Anyone here towing with the 2023 GMC Canyon with the new 2.7L Turbo charged i4.
Horsepower 310 hp @ 5,600 rpm
Torque 430 lb-ft @ 3,000 rpm
If so, what model Canyon, 8 speed or 10 speed, and what are you towing. Additional thoughts.

Probably not a perfect comparison, but I tow my 2108DS with a 2019 Ford Ranger with a 2.4l I4, think that the 10 speed in the Ranger is identical to the one used in the GM twins. A lot of our trips are in the Rockies and I’ve had no problems with towing power, although the gas mileage leaves a lot to be desired. Still, I’m sure it’s no worse than a bigger truck, and I prefer the smaller parking lot footprint driving around in the Parks.

Yup Same Transmission
270 HP @ 5500 RPM
310 lb -ft Torque @ 3000 RPM
My 2018 Tacoma, 278HP @ 6000 RPM and 265 lb-ft Torque @ 4600RPM. Mine sucks the fuel as well, but the ranger likely pulls better and more payload.
I watched this video of the GMC Canyon tow test
This is the video of the 3.0 diesel in the 1500

Guys, the '23 Canyon/Colorado twins only have an 8 speed transmission, no 10 speed. Never have had. In fact, the 2.7 turbo is ONLY paired with the 8 speed in all applications, including the Silverado/Sierra 1500s.
Owners that are towing report excellent driving and power characteristics...

Thanks for picking that up, I should have corrected that in my original post.
My quest re the 10 speed would be in relation to the 1500 Silverado/Sierra with the 3.0L Diesel
Thanks

I’m considering the same truck and am interested to see what is said here. There is an issue right now with some owners being stranded due to a battery issue (I think) but hopefully that is an easy fix.
