GMC Canyon - Trailer Battery Charge

For those interested and skipped the GMC manual like I did, noticed on long tow trip last weekend Canyon was not charging the RV battery, generally the canyon battery was running at 12.5 to 12.7 volts and RV battery was losing steam as it needs more to keep it charged.

As it turns out in tow haul mode it forces and locks the Canyon output voltage to 14.5v

So....if your minnie battery going low while towing, tow/haul mode will more than likely fix it.

The other solution is to turn on the headlights, that apparently also triggers a higher voltage. Per the 2019 Colorado [term added for future searches] manual:

To help charge a remote (non-vehicle) battery, press the Tow/Haul Mode button on the center stack. If the trailer is too light for Tow/Haul Mode, turn on the headlamps to help charge the battery.
