The one i previously posted was a different inverter but I believe the same applies
This from the owners manual Navion
Certain circuits, however, remain unchanged
for use by items which require 120-volt current,
such as the air conditioner(s), the refrigerator in
AC mode, the microwave oven, etc.
CoreyinWP, thanks for finding that reference. It is the first time I've seen the 15/20 amp 120 volt passthrough mentioned by the company that built the inverter. And I also found another reference when I read the original owners manual on the Xantrex site. It was in Chapter 3, which had been deleted from the Operator's manual that came with our Navion.
So now it is all making sense. There actually is a transfer switch built into the Xantrex, and from the description of how it works (also in Chapter 3) it's a nice one.
No need for an extra extension cord at all. Good luck tomorrow.
Had to return the Lifeline GPL-4CT batteries. Hated to do that, but fitting the required too many modifications required to the battery box, hold downs, and extensions on the cables. I may look at them again when warm weather allows for a more time consuming project.

Scotty,
You may want to look at the Lifeline batteries again. If you install the +12V post to the left, all of the original battery cables will reach. I did not modify the battery box. I removed the battery hold down rods because they crowded the sides of the batteries. I used an Ancra ratchet hold down strap to restrain the batteries. I put some wood blocks on top of the batteries to keep the straps from damaging the battery cables. After 3 years of service some of the plastic ducting around the cables was worn. I got some replacement plastic ducting from a local auto parts store. Here's a picture showing the install. I had not installed the hold down strap at the time.

Jerry, I agree that the LifeLine batteries have lots of advantages - thats a lot of why I ordered them. I hated to send them back, and paid dearly for the privilidge.... Hope to try them again in the summer when I will be physically able to deal with some simple mods to fit them in place. In the meanwhile, I replaced the 4 year old OEMs with a slight upgrade for minimum expense and easy exchange.
