New head unit it...constant power

Hello again.
So in my 2016 Journey I have installed a Kenwood DNR1008RVS. It works great with the ignition on or in the accessory position. Cameras switch correctly, great audio, even the 10" sub I installed is great.

Now here's my question...how to power it WITHOUT the ignition on or in the acc position. The previous stock head unit (Xite XSG3NA) had the ability to power up without messing with the ignition. I do not however see any additional leads or connections on how this was accomplished. So it makes me think it's ability is built into the unit itself. My first inclination is to just wire the red acc lead from the new unit's harness to the constant 12v that runs into the harness. I've never done this so am unsure if this is the proper way.
Any thoughts?
TIA!
