Make the 2022 Forza power cord removable

My ‘22 Forza has a power cord that connects directly to the ATS. I’d like to have a cord reel but don’t want a powered one. Has anyone cut their cord and put a male plug on the short piece (18” or so) from the ATS and then a female receptacle on the the cord?

I have read that some people have cut their power cord and installed the male and female connectors that you mention. They did this so that they could plug in a portable surge protector and keep it safely locked inside their basement compartment. This prevents possible theft of their expensive surge protector from the power pedestal. They seem to be happy with the results.

Your modification would be the same except that rather than a surge protector in the middle you would have a cord reel.

That was one of the first things I did five years ago after a few cold weather trips struggling feeding that cord through the hole. Works great.

Thanks. Nice, neat bay you have there! I’m still trying to figure out how best to organize mine.
