Rotate the Power Jack Head, Threads Were Already Tapped

Hi all,

I'm new here.

I wanted to rotate the LCI power jack head, so the truck's tailgate can open when hitched up. I have a 2024 Winnebago Minnie 2327TB travel trailer.

I read several threads and watched youtube videos about rotating the jack's power head by removing it, tapping threads into the other two holes, and reinstalling with the head turned 90 degrees.

Surprise, the other two holes already had threads cut. I previously wondered why the factory didn't tap those other two holes while they were at it. Well, they did, at last.

This would have been helpful info to have because the power wire to the jack was too short to easily remove the jack head. I removed all the zip ties holding the wire and I still had to pull on the wire more than I wanted to, to get the jack head off and on.

It turned out that I could have removed the two bolts, rotated the jack head 90 degrees, and reinstalled the bolts. Jack head removal not necessary.

I hope this helps the next person doing this project.

Must be luck of the draw as mine had no extra holes at all (2023 1720FB)
had to drill and tap them

Mine had holes too. But had to tap them out to 5/16”.
