Hitch Height Micro Minnie FLX 2108TB

Hey everyone, same trailer here towing with a 2023 RAM. I measured my mini’s coupler height when level and am getting 28 3/4. I thought it sounded high but got to the dealership and realized the 8 inch shank still comes up short with my Anderson setup.

I see that both the flx and regulars have listed hitch heights of 28 inches…my question is where are people getting the 22/23 inch measurement I’ve seen? I set up my RAM in tire jack mode to specs and have a receiver height of 20. Figure I might be doing something wrong. Thanks!

Some of the trailers today have quite high ground clearance, so your 28 and 3/4" may be accurate.
For instance, AirStream trailers have a coupler height of 19", which used to be the industry standard coupler height for trailers, and they sit comparatively low to some travel trailers today.

This from etrailer.com explains better than I. https://www.etrailer.com/faq-ballmount.aspx

You're not doing anything wrong. All you need is a height adjustment on the ball to match the coupler height. That's usually an adjustable ball mount. My Micro Minnie 2108TB's coupler was 27 1/2" when level. I use a Fastway E2 WD hitch which allows the ball to be placed at that height.

I'm used to the 19" Ray,IN mentions, so it was really different to look at - but really just higher. We are usually state park campers and height is not an issue. Many of the newer RVers want to boondock and more ground clearance is required. If you prefer smaller trailers (we do), you will have to adjust for that.

Whatever it takes to get your ball height to match the trailer will be ready available and not all that expensive.

The 22/23" measurement you are questioning would be the trailers configuration, and that assumes level.

Sweet, I’ll end up needing a 10-12 inch drop, no big deal.
