Hatch Door Hitting Tongue Jack

TV hatch door hitting top of tongue jack and won’t open. Some have suggested turning the motorized head to the side. Dealer advised against. Dealer changing the WDH shank to a longer extension. Current shank is 9” end to center hole. I ordered a Curt shank 12” end to center hole. That will allow enough clearance for the hatch to open. Question is, does adding 3 inches to the shank affect the WDH and do I have to reset everything?

Thanks!
