anyone ever make the trip from Yuma to Vegas?

Heading out in a couple of days to restart our Grand Adventure after detouring to Yuma to let things warm up a bit - and of course we experienced rain, wind (I think it must always be windy here!) and below average temps. But, it was certainly warmer than the planned locations of Carslbad and Albuquerque, NM and Winslow, AZ.

Wanted to check our route out for some peace of mind.

AZ95 to Parker, CA62 to US95.

Overnight at Needles KOA.

US95 to I11, I215, and I15 south getting off on NV160 and making a right on Arville St - our campground is on Arville St.

Thx heaps and safe travels!

for future reference - this is a really good route for any RV - the winds are a different story!

We left Parker this morning and are in an RV park in Bullhead City right now. High winds rocked the MH all night last night. Fought extreme cross- and headwinds all day today on AZ 95, US 95, and I-40. Was still rocking here until sundown, then let up. We will be here tomorrow and in LV by noon on Friday. We always stay at LV RV Resort because it is the closest to our son's house.

We've done that route from Yuma many times, except we take AZ95 thru Havasu to I-40 to Needles. If you take CA62 you are at the mercy of the high CA gas prices and you may find yourself needing fuel in Needles. Do NOT buy fuel in Needles! From the KOA, it is only a 3 mi easy drive thru town to cross the river on N. K St and be in AZ where fuel prices are drastically lower than Needles. Once across the river, about 1/2 mi up 95 at the corner of AZ95 and Courtwright Rd is an ARCO on the left and a Thalypo station on the right. I just checked the Gas Buddy app and regular gas in Needles is $5.84 and the Arco and Thalypo stations are 3.29 & 3.27 respectively. Both are good access for RV's with a toad.

If you decide to come up AZ95 thru Lake Havasu, at AZ95 and I-40 are a Pilot, Loves and Chevron which have similar pricing to the two I mentioned above, i.e., the Loves is at 3.59 for regular today. Safe travels!

We use diesel fuel in the MH, not gas. So, we bought diesel at the Smith's grocery in Lake Havasu City yesterday for $4.09/gallon, less a 20 cent Kroger discount. $3.89/gallon for diesel is a good price anywhere we have been in the month we have spent in Arizona. Only better price was the $3.87/gallon we paid for diesel at an Indian casino station just off I-25 in NM.

Thx for the tips on gas. We filled up in Yuma and topped off in Palm Gardens. And about that weather! So tired of winds and we even got snow yesterday! The rig was rocking so much overnight in 70 mph gusts I think I got seasick!
