If you can find this obsolete Ecobee SI smart thermostat (https://www.amazon.com/ecobee-Thermostat-Heat-2-NON-Touch-Screen/dp/B008F40R4C) it works fine on a basement heat pump....

That will not work on a basement or roof heat pump, it states cooling only..
