Why not Just take a file and smooth the edge of the perforated cover? It's stainless so filing it will not compromise the rust proofing characteristics. 5 minutes and your done.

Well I found the camera end of the cable tucked inside the cap but I still can't seem to locate the end up in the cab. Anyone have any ideas? Otherwise I guess I can always run a new cable.
