Minnie 2529RG-New Owner

Hi All,

Trading in our Micro Minnie 2108FBS. this week for a Minnie 2529RG. Hag good luck with the Micro, and wanted a bit more room. New to the forum. Happy to provide input to anyone considering a Micro!

Thanks!

Hi Puff Daddy,
I do like that trailer; very nice and spacious floor plan. Nothing cramped about it, to be sure. Looking at the specifications, I see the following tank sizes:
Fresh = 60
Gray 1 = 49
Gray 2 = 49
Black = 49
I never realized they were putting two Gray tanks in the trailers. It is a large capacity that way; very cool.
Welcome to the forum.

The additional room will be nice. It’s a bit larger than I was looking for, but the storage space inside was the clincher. Looking forward to seeing how well it pulls compared to the Micro. Tow vehicle is an F250 with a 7.3 gas engine.

We do not call your engine the 7.3 gas engine; we call it THE GODZILLA.
That is the development name for the 430 horsepower & 475 foot-pounds of torque V8.

F150, Micro Minnie, and the Godzilla.

Yes, it is The Godzilla … was trying not to be too ostentatious.The “road” to the Godzilla is interesting.

The Micro Minnie is not a large trailer, and initially was pulling with a 2019 F150 3.5 with twin turbos. Plenty of power/torque, BUT when pulling up hills (not mountains)in warm conditions, the engine temp would close in on the red line, often shutting the turbos off and resulting in loss of power when needed the most. I’m light on the gas pedal and my ideal cruising speed when towing is 62 mph.

Talked to my dealer, put it on the computer, and all was normal. Changed coolant, same situation. Another dealer said “turbos run hot”. Yes, but to the redline? Common sense told me it wasn’t if there would eventually be a major failure, just a matter of when. Put on over 7500 miles towing the Micro with the 150

Enter Godzilla, along with the idea that a larger trailer was in the cards. It pulled the Micro like a champ. 104 degrees in MT this past July, 5000+ elevation, temp gauge never even twitched. Looking forward to see how she handles the 2529RG.

Hi again Puff Daddy,
When I first heard that Ford was installing small-displacement turbo-charged engines in their trucks, I was wondering how long they could generate full power. As the old saying goes:
"There is no replacement for displacement!"
It was true back in the day, and apparently it is still true today.
Thank you for sharing the turbo story; it is good to know.
