Airbag Recall problems

Hello!
We, my husband Bob and I, are new to this forum, although we've had the pleasure of owning our 2010 Navion 24J for about 5 years now . It's actually a 2008 Dodge Sprinter chassis, with the Itasca Navion built for the 2010 model year (if this is pertinent to our issue).

We would love some input on the problem we're having getting our passenger side airbag replaced, as per the National Recall. Our local Dodge dealer replaced the driver side airbag with no hassle, but said that due to "modifications" they wouldn't touch the passenger side. The only thing we can figure is they are referring to the front window shade screen framework.

Forgive me if there has already been discussion on this issue, but I didn't see any established threads. Would love to hear from any others who have dealt with the recall issue successfully.

Thanks in advance,
Ann

Ann, I don't think the Dodge boys have a choice. It is a mandatory Federal vehicle safety recall.

There's a bazillion Sprinter RVs with Remis shade systems.

I'd grab your letter and start talking with a Service Manager. Work your way up the food chain to Mercedes if you must. Dodge/Freightliner/Mercedes are/were all Daimler at the time. Now Merc & Freightliner. Ultimately, Daimler is responsible. Heck, a Merc dealer might be the place to go.

I received a note about the pax airbag about a month ago. Parts are not yet available for our '14, so maybe that is the problem.

Go to www.sprinter-source.com. Sign up. Very good info there on all sorts of stuff.
