Camera Switcher? 2016 Itasca Sunova 35G

Hi, have a 2016 Itasca Sunova 35G with a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS radio.
Cameras have always worked fine, except now after about 10-15 min on the road the rear camera will just stop displaying. Sometimes it will come on for a short time, but then goes out again. There is no static or flashing of the display that might indicate a loose connection. It just goes out.
From what I understand the Pioneer unit only has one input for a camera, so there must be an external switcher of some kind to switch between the side cameras and the rear. Was wondering if it may be the problem?
I am considering replacing the whole head unit as I really don't like the Pioneer radio much. Not very user friendly in my opinion. Just don't want to replace it and find that I am still having the same problem.

If so, does anyone know a model or where I can get one?

Thanks!
Carl

Well, figured out the part number. Still not sure if this might be the problem or not. Anybody else have a problem with the switch?

The problem can be a number of things.

The "switcher" as you call it is a junction box that is connected to all cameras (presumably 3) and it's also connected to a sensor on the turn signal and the transmission selector. This usually resides close behind the system's head unit. I'd assume with a Pioneer the head unit is built into the stereo so removing the Pioneer would be a first step. Generally, this involves some slim tools that slide down the sides of the unit to release the radio body. You'll find generic videos on YouTube for how to do this.

There's not much in the box itself to go wrong - I've not seen others report a failure. Mostly, it's cables that are disconnected or corroded or loose and sometimes it's wiring to a transmission or turn signal sensor.

A first step, I would think, would not be to replace the combiner box but to gain access to it so you can check and clean the connections.

Other times it can be a more thorny problem of something wrong with the cable that runs to the front of the motorhome from the camera. That's always a good place to check next.

After taking care of inspecting the easy stuff I'd bring in a tech that is very familiar with these things. A good suggestion is taking the RV to a Car Audio Installation shop. They deal with all these things all the time.

The next time it happens, tap the left and/or right turn signal and see if you get left / right visual image immediately. If so this will demonstrate that the issue is not in the Pioneer and demonstrate that the video switcher still has solid DC power and is at least partially functional.
