Slide won’t go out

2019 Class A Winnebago Sightseer 33C passenger side front slide problem.

The electric motors for the passenger side front slide has a brake. The brake looks like two blades on the end of the motor, one black and one silver. These are normally positioned so that they do not overlap. When overlapped, it allows the slide to be operated manually, and the slide can still be operated with electricity. However, when overlapped and the slide is in, the slide tends to pop out at the bottom when on the road. When not overlapped, the slide stays put when on the road.

However, now when I want to open the slide, I get an error on the panel: Low voltage. Start and run the coach.” I cannot open the slide.

The engine is on and running, I have ample voltage.

I have yet to crawl under the coach and set the tabs so that they overlap and see if that lets me open the slide. It is unbearably hot here in Yuma, AZ.

This generally indicates that your Chassis battery is shot. If this is so, then just running the engine is not enough. What you are seeing for voltage on that battery is the alternator charge current.

The other two slides are working perfectly, the steps are working, so it's not a chassis battery problem. Most likely one or both of the motors on this one slide is not releasing the brake as it should.

A local RV repair suggested unplugging the motors to see if that will release the brake. I'm not in good enough shape in this heat to crawl around under the RV to do something like that, so they're coming out Thursday to check it out.
