Brand new Dometic Brisk II not cooling - Upgrade after warranty work

Hi all,

We have a brand new Hike 170S and it came with the Dometic Brisk II non-ducted manual control A/C. Since leaving the lot it has never really gotten cold. It will cool the air a little, but not very much. There is also no condensation coming from the top so I'm thinking it's either low on fluid or something else. Either way I'll be initiating a warranty claim to get it fixed.

After it is fixed I want to upgrade to a unit that has some sort of thermostat. The thermostat in the unit only works with the furnace. Any ideas or suggestions?

Definitely a warranty claim. It would have been best to notice this when you tested the A/C at the PDI. That's something best to not leave the dealership without it being fixed first.

I doubt you can "add" a thermostat to a basic TT that doesn't come with one for the A/C unit. However, there are RV A/Cs that have a remote control "thermostat" that you can use. Here's one that should work for you that comes with a wall thermostat - it can't tell if it's wired or wireless.

Problem is... is it a warranty repair or an upgrade? Generally, they replace like for like with warranty repairs.
