Water Leak/Wet Floor in Adventurer

Hello,

There is a small area at the threshold of the bedroom door that stays wet. The wet area doesn't expand but, we can't get the area to dry. It just stays very wet.

At first, I thought that maybe the door was leaking when we used the washer. After not using it, the washer, for a few days we notice that the wet area remains.

How do I access the under floor piping? I cannot see the pipes from underneath the rig. Am I missing an access panel or do I have to cut a hole in the floor for access?

My thinking now is that I have either a loose connection or a cracked pipe,

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hoople, welcome and sorry for your problem.

Please understand that we need detailed info about your RV. What year is your Adventurer? And, since you said it was 39' I'd guess it's a 38Q model????? But that's just a guess.

Can you provide this info and any more such as, is the floor carpeted or tiled? How "wet" is it? Is the flooring soft?

You get the drift of the info we need.

Generally there are no pipes in the floor and water pipes under the floor would leak to the outside not up to your floor.

Any info or photos you can provide will be a major help in suggesting solutions.

As I replied on irv2.com, water is subject to gravity. This means the water came from above the floor. If a cracked plumbing line below the floor is spraying water up onto the sub-floor you''ll see water dripping from somewhere below.

I had a problem that sounds similar. I have a 2014 Adventurer 38Q. The wet area only showed up when slides were out and with rain. It was always dry in storage. I also assumed it was from the shower, but it turned out to be a slide wiper seal problem. After that was resolved, I had the issue show up again a couple of years later, but this time it was "stead", anytime we were in the unit. I took the vent panels off below the shower and could see water dripping from the bottom of a water lines going up behind the shower to the shower mixer valve. I finally got the courage to pull the wall apart on the hall side of the shower wall. It wasn't as difficult as I anticipated. A fitting on the one of the inlet lines to the shower control was loose. I tighten it and put the wall back together - problem solved.

I too have a 38Q and I spent months tracking down a water leak under the shower, and out the drivers side frame, exiting behind the generator at the chassis frame in the back of the motorhome.

I could see puddles under the shower and feel water on the rail at the top of the bays all the way back.

Finally took the panel behind the shower controls off and discovered a very loose, wobbly connection on one of the lines. It leaked down the PEX and under the shower and out the back.

Check those connections by removing the outside trim on the corner behind the shower controls, you’ll find a line of screws behind that outside corner.

Now move to the trim that stops the sliding door leading to the hallway, remove the screws to that and then the line of screws behind that and your panel will come out (may have to remove the trim along the floor too, don’t remember).

When you pull that narrow sheet of paneling out you’ll see the controls behind the shower faucet and probably find one that has loosened over time.
