Water leak near hot water heater?

Recently took out our unit (2004 Adventurer) for the first time since December. Hooked up city water and everything was looking good until we realized water was coming from the compartment next to the hot water heater. Water was coming from underneath the white panel between the 2 compartments. I have attached a picture and would appreciate any help! We are still pretty new to this and learning all the time.

Open the water heater door and inspect the heater for leaks, including the over-pressure valve, when you see water in the left compartment.
RV water heaters are designed to have an air-pocket in the top of the tank. That air slowly get absorbed by water, then when water expands when hot, it has nowhere to go except out the safety valve.
To re-establish the air pocket, shut off water supply, open a hot water faucet to eliminate pressure. Then open the lever on the safety valve and allow water to drain out. When water stops draining close the relief valve and turn on water supply.
