Boldt alert! Air in water pump inlet line
After many hours of investigating and a visit to an RV dealer I found a flaw in the Boldt plumbing system that allows air to enter the water pump input line.
Turns out the "Water Fill" line located in the back above the dump valves that looks the same as the "City Water" inlet with a female hose fitting T's into the water tank to pump line. Problem is that this "Water Fill" line has no input check valve, just the opposite, it has an outflow check valve which allows air into the line even with the cap/cover on. Other units have a valve you need to open to fill with this inlet allowing no air to enter.
I called Winnebago. They were helpful and looking at the plumbing schematic agreed. The solution they had to offer was to send a replacement fixture. Same problem - - - so
The solution was to order a "Camco 22103 RV Plug With Lanyard" for $2.50 on Amazon which closes the inlet and solved the problem.
