WFCO 8955PEC Control Panel Switch

Hi Everyone

Does anyone know what the small switch at the top of my control panel above the breakers does? I'm planning on replacing the main board assembly to support a 100ah LiFePo4 and would feel like a real idiot if this switch will enable multi-stage charging.

Contact WFCO customer service (877) 294-8997. I have the same thing on mine but it is not a switch, it is a catch for the lid.

Yup, that is what that is.

Your converter is not compatible with LiFoPo4 batteries, but they make a drop-in replacement, WF-8955-AD (auto-detect) or a WF-8955PEC-B-LIS (switch). You can just replace the converter section.

I would just buy the converter and not the whole panel. You might watch eBay. They come up there occasionally. I got one (open Box) for around $80 shipped but ended up selling it after deciding to go the inverter/charger route.

If you do buy one off eBay, be sure to check the serial number on the converter to the serial number on the box to make sure you don't get a switched out unit. I wouldn't buy one without the box, as I didn't see the actual part number on it.

I got my WFCO 8955 replacement convertor from battleborn: https://battlebornbatteries.com/prod...center-55-amp/ The battle born folks will answer any installation questions.

I didn't use the case...just the guts, and I posted what I did here: https://www.winnieowners.com/forums/...iv-359008.html

It's been working great for the past 2+ years! My recollection is that replacing the fuse board wasn't really worthwhile, and I probably commented on that somewhere in the thread. That was the "busy" part of the update. The main convertor is just the 120v AC and 14.5v output wires.

True but you should look the the actual wire connections while you are in there. Some of mine were bad and were a potential short in the future. Even though I swapped out my whole panel for a different one, I used ferrules on all my wires, include the 6AWG wires and would have done the same had I kept my OEM panel.

See the attached before and after pictures.
