2108DS Upgrades & Mods
Here are upgrades and modifications we have made to our 2019 2108DS (so far). We almost exclusively dry camp which may explain some of the mods. If you click to look at a specific photo you will see some detail I wrote about each mod, and you can go forward/back through the photos from there.
The WFCO charger was replaced by a PD4655LIV charger which does 2-stage lithium charging for my battle born batteries. I bought the charger from battle born with my batteries and posted info on it...
In addition to my battery box (see photo for that mod) I have installed an extra 60A charger for "rapid charging" (using both my 55A and this 60A chargers together when using a generator). I also...
I have three 100W Renogy panels on struts. The panels are shifted street side so I have a path to walk forward on the roof. The struts are screwed down with eternabond-wrapped spacers so water can...
Replaced the freshwater drain valve with a 1/2 NPT stainless hose bib. I'll probably put a hose cap on to keep out road gunk. This is before I sprayed foam back around it.
Dura Faucet DF-NML210-SN for the bathroom sink. Single lever and works well.
The space formerly used by the microwave was lined to look nice and is cavernous! These doors can be removed and the microwave easily reinstalled should we sell the trailer.
Removed the microwave and replaced with cabinet doors (above the range hood).
Replaced the battery with a pair of Battle Born LiFePO4. This is a work-in progress that's working great! Info is here:...
Dura Faucet DF-SA150 single handle shower faucet. Super easy to install! I'm waiting for the caulk to set up so I haven't connected the Oxygenics shower head yet.
Added 12v power jack to USB. I use this with a cigarette adapter to run a CPAP
Moved the entry light switch out of the enclosed control panel out to where it's actually useful. Info is here: ...
Extended the murphy bed by 3/4" with maple. Moved the side trim to match, and tossed the junk factory mattress for a 10" thick full size mattress. Required mod!
Dumped the TV. What a nice coffee bar we have now! The bracket is gone now, too.
Magnet and door stop for the bathroom door. This is a required mod! Nice to have the door stay open.
Replace that dumb halogen light in the range hood with an LED. Now it's nearly as bright as the pancake lights! What to do with the leftovers, though?
Our lampshades for the harsh LED pancake lights. This is a pair of 9" metal hoops with fabric. If you bump your head it just mooshes out of the way.
MaxxAir fans in the bath and above the bed. This one above the bed is wired over to the light. Easy install.
Our water solution. We always fill via a common home cartridge filter and OTG water softener. Always. No calcium buildup anywhere so far!
