Trouble with door latch 2022 Micro Minnie 1708FB

I recently purchased a 2022 Micro Minnie model 1708FB second hand-barely used so I have no warranty. I am a first-time camper owner.

I took it out for the first time this week.

When closing the door from the outside I need to press on the door close to the lock to get it to close. When trying to close from the inside it is almost impossible. It took much pulling the handle to get it to latch. Any ideas of a fix for this or should I seek out an RV repair shop.

The latch plate on the wall side is adjustable. It's a trial and error process to find the "right" setting.

Also, the two horizontal latch posts sometimes work loose and extend out too far that makes clising the door difficult or impossible to close. They are adjusted with a Allen wrench, also as stated above by SactoSteve, by trial and error to set correctly. A good idea would be to use Blue Loctite to prevent them from creeping after you adjust them.

Remove some of the weather stripping

I feel I removed too much but it made a huge difference. I can close the door without slamming the heck out of it.

Mine was adjusted ok but was a little sticky. I put a little Super Lub synthetic grease on the latch and it’s much easier to close now
