Slow Fresh Water Fill 2017 Micro Minnie 2106
When filling the fresh water tank on our 2017 2106 we find the last half such a slow process as it takes forever for the air to bleed out.
Is it just me or has anyone else experienced this and have come up with a solution.
Thanks

I have had this same issue. Once the tank is half full, it starts overflowing out the gravity fill inlet port. For me, the cause was a poorly routed hose from the inlet to the top of the water tank. There is a low spot that once filled with water, blocked/greatly slowed further filling. I have not rerouted the hose yet, but just lifting the low spot allows normal filling.

Hi Lyle,
I would suggest checking your freshwater vent and vent line and make sure it is not pinched off or plugged somewhere. I would think that if your vent and vent line are open that you wouldn't have a fill problem.

Similar problem
I had a similar problem and the issue was a twisted vent tube. Besides the issue of slow filling of the water tank, I had water backing up into the coach. You should have a tech take a look at your vent tube to make sure is it is not twisted or improperly installed.

I had the same problem. The vent is way to small to handle water coming in fast. I found this as the solution. Works great.

Hmmm, I wonder if this is why I get a slight trip from the shower 3 way valve system when in the recirculate mode but on shore water? Supposed to be a way to fill the fresh water. 🤔

I opened up the side of my TT's underbelly searching out another issue and found out both my vent hose and filler hose went from above the fresh water tank to below the bottom of the tank and then back up. In fact, it rested on the underbelly. I zip tied it up, so it is more level with the top of the tank. I haven't tried filling the tank yet, but I bet it helps solve the slow filling issue.

I would think that would definitely impact the air escaping especially is water was trapped in the air bleed line.

I removed the coroplast that covers the freshwater tank so I can install a tank heater pad and water level indicator.
Found a couple issues, the freshwater tank vent line was kinked, the freshwater tank can't fully drain due to the belly of the tank being lower than the sump in the tank and the freshwater tank area is completely separated from the area that contains the gray and black tanks so it receives no heat from the furnace duct that vents into the underbelly area near the gray and black tanks.
- The first picture shows the business end of the freshwater tank.
- The second picture below shows the kink in the vent line (yellow circle).
- The third picture shows the elbow I installed to remove the kink. I also cleaned the vent line before reinstalling it.
- The fourth picture shows the belly of the tank in relation to the sump.
- The fifth picture shows the frame cross member between the freshwater tank area and the gray and black tank area.
- The sixth picture shows the aluminum strip that screws the coroplast tight up against the bottom of the cross member that separates the freshwater tank and gray/black tank areas leaving no opening for warm air to flow to the freshwater tank.

Very nice pictorial of your findings.
Would the kink in the vent line have be visible from the top where they come through the floor? Obviously the proper way to fix the issue, let us know how the fill goes now that the vent line kink is repaired and removed.

Thanks.
No, I couldn't see the kink from the top. I plan to fill the tank before I get everything buttoned up so I can check that the vent line is working properly and the new connections don't leak.

Well, we are heading out for a few days boondocking, and I just push 40 gallons into my fresh water tank. Huge improvement since I made my "fix." It took it as fast as I could put it in there from my domestic water spigot. No backup whatsoever. I used to have to throttle it back to about half flow and stop it occasionally when I got up to around 20 - 25 gallons to allow it to "burp.".

As it happens, I opened up my underbelly this past weekend to look at/reinforce the water tank ( details in my thread on ExPo)
This is what I found on my 2022:
Note that both the fresh water gravity fill hose (white, spiral, centre frame) and the breather hose (clear, in the back) have a downward dip - this causes "gurgling" when filling up, as air from the tank cannot escape without resistance.
I've already fixed the gravity fill hose (shortened in), and will fix the breather hose soon (by slightly "pulling it in" from the inside of the trailer).
