Hello, we recently purchased the 2021 2306BHS with the split mattress. Do you know if this can be replaced with a memory foam mattress? Would it be flexible enough to close the bed properly? Thank you for any information you can share on this.

Were you able to find anyone that removed the overhead shelf? We pick ours up Thursday so I cannot view it and were wondering if you can just remove the whole shelf without cutting it.

Do you know if a regular foam mattress will fit instead of the split mattress. That worries me since my husband has a terrible back.

And the bed isn’t long enough for someone my height (6’2”), unless you slide it rearward away from the front bulkhead. The foam is too firm. I realize this reply is coming in late in the game, but perhaps someone will find this helpful if they search for this topic in the future.

Here is a link to the mattress I got to replace the original one in my 2108DS. It measures 54x74x10, which fits the current bed dimensions with no modifications. I have had it over a year and should have done it sooner. A little on the firm side which is perfect for me.

How do you raise the Murphy bed? The mattress you describe is way longer than the distance between the bed base and the overhead cross storage.

It appears my 2108DS is an early 2021 before they changed how the murphy is stowed in the later 2022 and newer models. So you are correct, the mattress I am using will not work in a late 2022 or newer camper. Thanks for pointing that out!
