Holding Tank T-handles on Minnie 2529RG TT
Ok, so I know black is the black tank color and gray is for the gray tank. We just got back from our second use of our 2529RG, a 3 day boondocking trip up in the national forest. The first trip was just an overnighter at a local State Park and considering they charge $5 to dump the holding tanks, we skipped it the first time knowing we would be out again this week.
So, here is my situation. We pulled into the dump station and hooked up to the front tanks. Pulled the black handle and hum, water sure looked pretty clear. So, I shut it off and pulled the gray handle, and now that looked like what you would see from the black tank. Here is a picture of my handle arrangement. Is this the same as other 2529RG TT? Granted, I can simply switch the handles (I hope) but I am curious if the actual handle assembly arrangement is correct, gray on the left, black on the right.

Hi #1 Hunter,
We had a guy named Woody with us at Boeing that would always say that which is in your autosignature ( no matter where you go, there you are.) I always liked that about him.
Having that clear elbow on your dump pipe is a great idea, and honestly, I cannot see how your handles are not reversed. I also found a song from 1966 which first describes the black and then the gray, so it makes sense that the black handle would be first; that is, to the left. Actually, my Minnie Winnie does have black on the left and gray on the right, so perhaps that is standard convention for Winnebago?
Thanks, Eagle5

Hey Eagle5,
Thanks for the response. I actually use a clear 45 degree and a small clear extension right at connection to the TT's, so I can see! LOL
As for the saying, "no matter where you go, there you are", it's from Mad Max Beyond the Thunder Dome, at least that is where I got it from.

Our 2022 - 2529RG has 2 black handled pulls there.
The side of the trailer has tags - front as sewage holding tank and the right one is Wastewater holding tank. When we dumped I am 99% sure that was accurate. I think I would have noticed if it was reversed.

We had a problem with the grey valve (wouldn't close during PDI) so they replaced it but I bought these valves to add another valve incase of an issue. This is where I watch for clear water and it easier than looking at the elbow.

mrlichty,
Thanks for the info. Yes, mine are labeled but as you can see, they are labeled in the wrong place! The front label, which is on the slide, just states Wastewater Holding Tank.
Which brand of valve? Do you have a short clear extension on it or did it come that way? I use a clear 45-degree elbow with a short clear extension on it.

They are one piece.
I bought them in April and they were 20.01 each.. Have gone up some since then.

We had a Forest River RV with the same issue. I simply changed the handles around. Easy job, one screw in each handle.

Yeah, I swapped them a few days ago. Very simple. Dumped today and all is good now! LOL
