Another question about the 2106FBS
Regarding the roof line. Is it the same height all the way from the front to the back? What I am getting at is, suppose a second AC unit was added to the bedroom roof hatch, would it stick up higher than the main AC unit?
(I actually want a swamp cooler up there but they are the same height as an AC unit)
Also would there still be room for a solar array up there if I did this?

The roof is 10'-1" to the top of the AC and flat per the spec's . If you put a similar unit in back it will hit the same branches as the front one.

ouch....the specs say 9'8" including AC. If it's 10'1" I am in trouble as my garage door is 10'. Is yours lifted?

1706FB 1700BH 2106DS 2106FBS Exterior Length 19'2" 20'9" 21'11" 21'11" Exterior Height (including A/C) 10'1" 10'1" 10'1" 10'1"
Better get a level and a ladder and a tape measure and check if it a critical number.

It is the same height all of the way across but the roof is not flat but curved. The measurement on my standard lift 2106FBS is 8' 4" to the side roof lip. The distance to the top of the curvature is 2 - 3 inches. I still haven't gotten up on the roof the see how high the A/C unit is off the roof but as I put in another post I would estimate it is 16 - 18 inches tall in the center.
I can't answer much about the solar but a second unit would take up a lot of real estate so I suspect you might not be able to get the number of panels you want. I'm also not sure if these trailers are framed for a second roof unit as usually there is additional roof framing to handle the A/C mounting.

It has been 10'1" since at least 2015. I measured mine to confirm. Why would you need a second AC unit in a 2106? And a swamp cooler presents humidity issues. Are you sure you want to proceed?

2 of the three Winnebago websites show 9'8" while one shows 10'1" and I called them and they said 9'8". But I will definitely have to go measure one now. Wish they were open after dark, I'd just bring my laser and tripod.
Larry, I used TurboKOOL coolers for many years on truck campers with great results. The water consumption is very minimal and the campers would stay very cool sitting in the desert sun all day or while driving. An AC unit just can't cool off a trailer that is hot inside for a long time when parked in the sun, you suffer till the sun goes down. A swamp cooler, with it's air flow will get a cool breeze going right away, and can keep it cool on 12 volts while driving. You are correct about the humidity but where we live there is really no humidity to speak of except for July and part of August. So we need humidity to keep us from drying out and to keep the woodwork from drying out. I presently own 8 swamp coolers and love them. It is over 100 degrees here right now and I am sitting inside my swamp cooled house at 72 degrees. The hotter and dryer it gets the better they cool. My garage/workshop is swamp cooled and I can work out there no matter how hot it gets outside. I have 3 portables for the job sites that we trailer in.
Of course when the rains finally come we switch to AC, but in the trailer all you have to do is stop the water flow and it becomes a nice fan to bring in cool night air.
Swamp coolers are best in desert climates and useless in humid climates.
As far as weight, shipping weight is 35 lbs and water capacity is about 2 quarts so I am not too concerned about that.

Now I understand...with low humidity, a swamp cooler could work, bigb. No lift on my 2015 2101DS. It’s ground clearance is acceptable, not great. I did add slightly larger 14 inch LR D tires from etrailer and homemade drag wheels. Next project is a protective plate for sewer lines.

That is a fine looking rig. Looking forward to the skid plate pics. Did the casters bolt right on or did you have to add some plates?

I think I figured out the height difference, yours is a Minnie, not a Micro Minnie.

Why would you want a 2nd AC in the 2106fbs. It's already hard enough to hear your self think with the stock mode.l Our 2016fbs AC keeps it cold enough to hang meat and loud enough we can't hear the TV. Is your OEM working properly ? Even after a hot day on the road or in camp our cools comfortably in 10-15 minutes

Well actually I posted that 3 years ago and it was for a 12 volt swamp cooler for dry camping, not another AC unit. I actually ended up raising the garage door to 11 feet and we bought a Winnebago Via Class A motorhome which I still intend on installing a swamp cooler over the bedroom.
