HWH Levelers Failure 2020 Navion 24D
I've been having intermittent issues with my levelers on my Navion. I found the issue and fixed the problem. I'm including the information below in case someone else has the same issue.
The symptoms were all the LEDs on the control panel would occasionally all go out when I tried to lower the vehicle and I would have to lower the RV using the 4 hydraulic valve handles under the RV. A short time later, the levelers would work fine. I went through all the troubleshooting steps and the indication at the time was an open ground. I removed and cleaned all the ground connections I could find near the HWH unit underneath the RV and everything worked fine for a while.
Last Sunday, the LEDs went out again while trying to level the RV. I again went through the troubleshooting tips and again they pointed to an open ground. I traced the issue to loose ground wires under a nut on the front side of the I/O module. The 7/16 inch (wrench size) nut had several loose ground wires under it. The nut was backed off probably about 1/8 of an inch. I'm sure the nut was left loose when the system was installed. I tightened the nut and the problem was solved.
I'm attaching the service manual with the troubleshooting steps. Pay attention to step 4.B.2. The manual talks about a white wire on top of the I/O unit, but in my case the white wire was on the front side of the I/O unit about half way up.
