Bubbles are installation issues. There are several causes for those bubbles such as improper substrate prep, improper application of adhesive (thick here, thin there) or failing to use a heavy roller to ensure proper adhesion.
We removed our original floor coverings (tile and carpet) and installed self adhesive 12x24 stone look vinyl (because everyone we know has wood plank look
). Perfect!
We carefully sealed the plywood substrate where carpet was and lightly applied a compatible vinyl adhesive, let it dry to touch, then applied the self-adhesive tiles. We rented a tile roller (60lb) from the tile source, and rolled the tiles as we laid them. Since tile adhesive remains flexible over its life, we stapled the tiles every foot or so around the perimeter. Keeps the tiles from "creeping" sideways out under the slideouts.
