Vinyl Flooring

Just had new vinyl plank flooring installed in my 2006 Adventurer - when we picked up MH, there were “bubbles” down the flooring - installer now saying it is due to heating and cooling of MH and wants to install wood planks instead - anybody else have this problem ?

Bubbles are installation issues. There are several causes for those bubbles such as improper substrate prep, improper application of adhesive (thick here, thin there) or failing to use a heavy roller to ensure proper adhesion.

We removed our original floor coverings (tile and carpet) and installed self adhesive 12x24 stone look vinyl (because everyone we know has wood plank look ). Perfect!

We carefully sealed the plywood substrate where carpet was and lightly applied a compatible vinyl adhesive, let it dry to touch, then applied the self-adhesive tiles. We rented a tile roller (60lb) from the tile source, and rolled the tiles as we laid them. Since tile adhesive remains flexible over its life, we stapled the tiles every foot or so around the perimeter. Keeps the tiles from "creeping" sideways out under the slideouts.

We did Allure vinyl planks. We had a secition that separated on the ends of the planks where they join together. It was in the narrowest section of the install and it’ll never return to seal as it was when we installed it. If I had to do it again I’d go with some engineered wood with a backing material already installed. I’m only out the materials as we were able to do the work ourselves.
