#2: connect a piece of coax from #2 to your DircTV Receiver's "Satellite In".
#3: I THINK, that the coax from the DircTV's Receiver's "Out to TV" plugs into the front of that plate (the side with the lettering) and the grey cable Bruce mentioned goes on the backside of that plate and terminates at the TV.
I At least Bruce can try both options and see what works (the advocate for the one that doesn't has to buy the other an adult bev somewhere down the road).

Oops... I left out the part about the connection to the #2 port that goes to the "Satellite In" on the back of the receiver.
I think we're saying the same thing on the #3 port, Steve. The cable on the back side of #3 goes to the TV so whatever you hook to the front side of #3 becomes the source for the TV signal, whether it's the Cable TV input (the mysterious gray cable) or the cord from the "Out to TV" port on th sat. receiver. One of my projects someday is to put a switch in so I don't have to switch cables for Cable TV or Satellite on that port.
