Basement storage doors

We have a new Adventurer 35f. Love it! However, we have a basement storage door that comes loose on occasion when we are on the road. Even when locked. I have inspected it more than once and I can't find anything that looks out of line.
When in the driveway, I can open and close it as normal. The lock seems to be engaging properly with the key. I can tug on it and it stays closed. Then, on the road at 60 or so mph, it appears to pop open when I am exiting the highway. Not all the time.

Any ideas?

I had the same issue with my slam latches on the TT. When the trailer is level the bins are secure. When the trailer is not level I could force it open. I think the flexing and the movement of the rig is what makes it come loose. I added thumb cams as an added security to my bins because my bins came loose on the freeway twice.

Hi and welcome. Congratulations on the new Adventurer.

We've had a LOT of complaints of this happening on new Winnebago Forza diesel RVs. In fact, so many that there was a recall and the company came up with a fix that is pretty unconventional - they install a separate secondary latch to each door.

There are a lot of posts about how to adjust those latches and things people do to improve the holding. My 2017 Adventurer has never had any problems with this. So, I don't have a lot of suggestions.

Here is a link to a helpful thread here on the topic with a Vista and the Adventurer and Vista are closely related.

Also, here's a photo of how this was solved on a Forza - but the Forza latches are different from the Adventurer.

BTW, this is a fellow member of irv2.com who had a need, so he designed and 3-D printed helpful items.
