2017 Vista LX 30T water question

The last few trips out, we hooked up to full hookup. For some reason, it has put water in the fresh water tank. I leave the drain open and water comes out most of the weekend with about 1/3 full in the fresh water tank. Is this normal? If I close the drain valve I think it would fill up the fresh water tank. Of course when I got home all the water drained out like it should. Is this normal to be hooked up to water (full hookup) and water being put in the fresh water tank as well?

thanks,

On my Adventurer there is a control knob to switch from “Tank Fill” to “City Water” if you leave it in the tank fill position it will continue to fill the tank and then out the over flow tube.

I know about the knob, and mine says Normal and Fill. I have it on Normal which should bypass the fresh tank. I turn to fill, and I hear it going into the fresh tank. I turn it to normal and stops going to fill. It's like the valve doesn't completely shut down the fresh water tank or something.

I think you have touched on your problem. Likely your diverter valve bonnet is installed such that the valve stem reaches its stop before valve cartridge has completely aligned one way or the other.

If you are still under warranty, may be their problem. If not, valve maintenance is easy and intuitive (assuming the valve is accessible).

(Went out and looked at ours) If you can access the valve, remove the valve handle, loosen and remove the bonnet, pull the cartridge (may have neoprene O rings, may be ceramic) Check the stem and cartridge for burrs. Look for burrs inside the valve body. Burrs may impede cartridge rotation. The valve stem stop may or may not be adjustable. If not, a few strokes with a file should give you just that movement to allow the cartridge to align properly.

Could be a bad check valve on the pump as well. I’m going to replace mine this weekend due to the same situation.
